So, NaNo wasn’t what I expected in the slightest this year; but I’m not mad about it at all. Did I hit my 50,000 word goal? NO. Did I write at all in the month of November? YES. That in itself is a victory that I’m proud of.
Sometimes, 50,000 is lofty and this month literally flew past me faster than I ever imagined it would. Nevertheless, I still managed to find time to get some words down in the midst of it all; for that, I am proud of myself.
To anyone who might have not hit your word goal for NaNo this year, don’t beat yourself up about it. It takes a lot to sit in front of a computer and make your thoughts make any kind of sense.
To all of us who didn’t quite meet the 50,000 finish line; don’t fret, don’t beat yourself up about what wasn’t accomplished. What you should do is celebrate what you did accomplish, and focus on what you do have and not what you weren’t able to accomplish. Next year is always another year to see how much further you can go, and who knows? Next year might be the year you hit 50k! Mo matter what, pat yourself on the back; you earned it!!
